IT ALWAYS HAS, IT ALWAYS IS, AND IT ALWAYS WILL BE ALL ABOUT JESUS.

The Point. It always has, always is, and always will be about Jesus. The Bible explains that all of creation was created through him, by him, and for him (Colossians 1:16). You have probably noticed wherever you go, when you mention the name of Jesus, it always causes a response. Jesus will either be the major stumbling block or the chief cornerstone, but he is always the main concern (1 Peter 2:6-8). He is always the point. He is always the central issue. He will always be the most important person anyone could ever know.

Who is this Jesus? To answer this crucial question, the only place to turn is the Bible. The Bible says that:

Jesus is our God. We may not be able to fully comprehend the wonder of it, but Jesus is fully man and fully God (John 1:1, 14). This means that no matter what situation we encounter, Jesus understands it and can handle it. He personally sympathizes with us because he lived in this broken world just like us (Hebrews 4:15). He experienced friendships, betrayals, trials, beauty, extreme joys and extreme pain. And through it all he was perfect. He is perfect because not only is Jesus a man, Jesus is fully God. Because he is God, he has all the power to understand and handle every problem.

Jesus is our Friend.  We all have had friends in life, but no one is a friend to sinners like Jesus. Even while we were his enemies, he loved us and died for us (Romans 5:8). Jesus is our faithful friend even when we are not faithful to him (2 Timothy 2:13). He forgives us when we wrong him and he never brings it up again (Psalm 103:12). He loves to spend time with us, he wants the best for us, and through thick and thin he never leaves us. Jesus is the best friend anyone could ever have.

Jesus is our Savior. Since Jesus is our God and he desires to be our friend, he had to do some things for us to make this relationship work. As our God, he is totally holy and just; therefore, when we sin against God he requires the debt to be paid. But because God is love, he also desires to be our friend. So the problem is this: God desires to be near us but he also demands that our sins be paid for. The only solution to this problem is Jesus, our Savior.  He satisfies the holy justice of God through his death and thus also brings us into friendship with God.  Jesus is the bridge, our only hope, to having a friendship with God. Jesus is our Savior (John 14:5-6).

How can you Meet Him? When you read about Jesus in the Bible, you realize that he is the most loving person who has ever walked the face of the earth. But in love, Jesus has to tell it how it really is. Jesus is so loving that he will tell people the truth, even when it gets awkward. Jesus explains that he wants to be friends with everybody, but he won’t be friends with everybody. Jesus is only friends with those who put their faith in him. In love, he won’t overlook our faults; he pays for them. For Jesus to pay all our debts, we have to let him. Jesus is a gentleman, and he never forces his will upon people (Revelations 3:20). He lovingly waits for us to accept his invitation to friendship.

The way we become friends with Jesus is not by trying harder, following stricter rules, or through performing some religious ritual. The Bible says we are saved through faith, not by works (Ephesians 2:8-9). God grants us grace through Jesus when we put our faith in him. To put your faith in Jesus, you must confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9).

Jesus can’t be your Savior if He is not your Lord. If Jesus is your Lord, it means you will now seek to obey him through the grace he gives you.  It means you will give him complete control of your life. To believe God raised Jesus from the dead means that you are proclaiming your full belief in the real Jesus. Lots of people in history have died on a cross but only one was raised to life, lived a perfect life, died for the sins of the world, and was God himself. If you believe these things and you truly commit your life to Jesus through grace, Jesus says you and him are now friends.
